WNYC, New York's NPR radio station, contracted me to redesign and rebuild the web site for On The Media, their media analysis radio show and podcast. This followed my successful delivery of a new front end for their Studio 360 show. I made the sale, wrote the statement of work, hired an excellent designer, won sign-off on her design, managed our project, and developed the new front end architecture. I took care to deliver accessible and fully standards-compliant page templates and clear documentation. The HTML, JavaScript, and CSS handled all common browsers old, new, and on the horizon.

Making the sale, achieving and maintaining customer consensus, and leading the product delivery was great practice for my career as Product Manager. Performing so many roles — from Front End Architect and Web Developer to Account Manager, Creative Director, Project Manager, QA Engineer, Technical Writer, and Client Services Engineer — enriches my perspective leading product design and development teams. The experience serves me in the function of Sales Engineer. And it instills an appreciation for the efficiencies that come from the division of labor.
