Reuters White Label Web Publishing Platform
The Reuters White Label Web Publishing Platform flexibly and easily integrates breaking news and live updating data into web sites and applications. It solves the technical challenges digital media publishers faced collecting, packaging, and delivering Reuters editorial content, and removes those sales barriers. It provides a simple and powerful cloud publishing content management solution for auto-updating sites and apps across the web, from desktops to mobile devices. I was the Product Manager and led the team who built it. We generated over $700,000 serving dozens of customers for the Winter Olympics and the World Cup, in eleven languages.
The white label solution was designed for sale in three packages: 1) Total Connection: a versatile and highly customizable hosted solution that delivers the latest news and data in a web site that responsively adapts for displays as small as mobile devices; 2) Results Connection: customizable embeddable JavaScript modules that responsively display live data and the latest results; 3) Flex Connection: a flexible API that delivers raw news and data for tailor-made applications. A secure web administration console empowers customers to manage and configure their products, and enables Reuters to administer the platform and customer accounts.
As Product Owner working within an Agile development framework I specified the requirements, wrote the user stories, created the wireframes and prototypes, designed the administration console and its user experience, set the development priorities, owned the product in daily standups, served as sales engineer and presented sales demos, led product training sessions, guided integrations, provided the highest technical external interface, coordinated technical support, and supplied the voice of the customer. We drove the product from New York, with engineers in New York and Eastern Europe, and sales, customers, and support spanning the world.
